Our Staff

Our teachers aim to make sure all of your family childcare needs are met. The teachers in our program not only impart knowledge, but they are enthusiastic educators and researchers.

Jane AsumaduJane Asumadu, President & Director

Mrs. Jane Asumadu is the founder and president of Harmony Child Care Center. As a mother and child advocate, she has brought her vision alive by empowering our future leaders with three key concepts: love, security and autonomy.

Jane’s educational background in nursing and child psychology makes her an expert in her chosen field. She exemplifies her passion for a life with dignity in all her public service business entities. Owned and operated under the Harmony umbrella, Jane has created a family of love.

Jane resides locally with her husband and their four children.

StevieStephanie, Assistant Director

Stephanie “Stevie” McCauliff is a graduate from the University of Connecticut. She has a bachelors degree in Human Development and Family Studies, with a concentration in Early Childhood. Throughout her schooling Stevie worked at the UConn Child Labs in their infant, toddler and preschool programs. Upon graduation, she worked at Bright Horizons Family Solutions as their Head Toddler Teacher. Stevie then moved onto joining a non-profit program at South Windsor Child Development Center as their Head Toddler Teacher. Stevie accepted a position to work in the public school as an Intensive Program Paraprofessional for special education. As the school year ended Stevie was given the wonderful opportunity to join Harmony Child Care Center as their Assistant Director. She couldn’t be happier to join this team and watch this center grow.

Stevie’s hobbies outside of work consist of being outdoors, arts and crafts and adventures with her family! Stevie cannot wait to begin her new journey with Harmony Child Care Center!


McKenna has been babysitting children since 2013, ages ranging 5 months to 8 years, children are a big part of her family as she is always around them at outings and at work. It amazes her how wonderful they are and how they learn and grow.

She has taken early childhood education classes in school and that is how she got interested in working with children. She uses her creativity in art when she is working with the children.

Her hobby outside of work is Photography. We are happy to have her be a part of our Toddler program here at Harmony Child Care.

Stephanie NievesStephanie

Stephanie Nieves is the Toddler teacher at Harmony Child Care Center. She is the mother of four children ages 10, 9, 7, and 4. Stephanie has over 10 years of experience. Outside of work she likes to cook, eat, DIY projects, and loves being at the beach.

Working with children is Stephanie’s passion, and she is going to further her education in Early Childhood. Toddlers are a great age to work with. This age is when they start learning all the basics and important things such as following directions, ABC’s, counting, etc. It is such a privilege to be a part of these young children’s lives.

Ms. DesiDesiree

Desiree Quiles (Ms. Desi) is the Toddler Teacher Assistant. Growing up she was always very “motherly.” She loves and cares so much about people especially children!

Desiree is the mother of three beautiful, amazing children ages 7, 5 and 18 months. She also has four years of childcare experience where she has worked with all ages, newborn–school age, but she was a toddler teacher for three out of those four years.

Working with children is her passion! She loves being a mother to her babies, it is such a blessing to be a positive role model for them. It means so much to her! Children are our future and helping them grow is amazing.

Desiree’s hobbies outside of work are being with her family, boxing, cooking, eating and crafting. She also loves art, nature, photography and being at home!


Johanna has worked in the childcare field for about 11 years and really enjoys what she does. She is currently working on her Associates Degree in visual fine arts and hoping to become an Art Teacher I the future, she is also working on getting an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.

In her spare time, she spends time with her Fiancé and 3 beautiful children and 2 step children.
We are happy to have her join us in our Preschool room here at Harmony as a Co-Teacher.


Rosemarie comes to us from Jamaica, she has been living in the United States for 23 years.

She has been working with children in many differenct capacities for the past 27 years, she likes to say that she loves children and understands them and they have come to understand and love her as well.

She is presently working on a degree in Social Services where she hopes to be better equipped to serve the needs of children.

She has one child of her own, who is grown and living out of State. Rosemarie comes from a large family where she is the youngest of 10. In her spare time she sings in the church choir and loves to cook and entertain for family and friends. Her hope and goal is to serve the precious children that come to our center.

EmilyEmily, Assistant Teacher

Emily graduated from East Hartford High School in June of 2015. There she took classes in Early Childhood Education and worked with young children as well. When Emily was 7 years old she started taking dance classes and continued those until 2015. In her dance studio, she was given the opportunity to teach and assist in dance classes with children 3-11 years old. Emily is currently attending Manchester Community College and is happy to be working at Harmony Child Care for her first job. She has already learned so much and she is excited for this experience.

In Emily’s spare time she enjoys making videos and graphic designs on her computer. She spends a lot of time with her friends whom live all over the world. At home her family has 2 dogs and 3 cats. They are also a foster family for the Humane Society where they take care of kittens until they are old enough to be adopted.
