Our Staff

Our teachers aim to make sure all of your family childcare needs are met. The teachers in our program not only impart knowledge, but they are enthusiastic educators and researchers.


Jane AsumaduJane Asumadu, President & Director

Mrs. Jane Asumadu is the founder and president of Harmony Child Care Center. As a mother and child advocate, she has brought her vision alive by empowering our future leaders with three key concepts: love, security and autonomy.

Jane‚’s educational background in nursing and child psychology makes her an expert in her chosen field. She exemplifies her passion for a life with dignity in all her public service business entities. Owned and operated under the Harmony umbrella, Jane has created a family of love.

Jane resides locally with her husband and their four children.


TammyTammy, Head Teacher & Assistant Director

Tammy has worked with children for over 12 years and she has her Associates Degree in Science and Early Childhood Education. Tammy started working with children in 1988 when she opened her own certified in home daycare. After years of being home she decided to work outside the home doing various jobs. Tammy has worked in Deaf Education for High School students and communicates well using American Sign Language. Tammy was also a head teacher in a Head Start Program, a substitute teacher at various school districts, taught at the YMCA summer program and her last job was working with the County’s Social Services Department as a welfare examiner. She recently has possessed her Head Teacher Certification and was the Preschool Teacher for our program until recently being promoted to Assistant Director.

Tammy has two full grown children and a beautiful grandchild. She has lived in Connecticut for 4 years with her wonderful husband and 2 cats. Tammy is very excited for this opportunity to work with Harmony Child Care and its wonderful staff!


McKennaMcKenna

McKenna has been babysitting children since 2013, ages ranging 5 months to 8 years, children are a big part of her family as she is always around them at outings and at work. It amazes her how wonderful they are and how they learn and grow.

She has taken early childhood education classes in school and that is how she got interested in working with children. She uses her creativity in art when she is working with the children.

Her hobby outside of work is Photography. We are happy to have her be a part of our Toddler program here at Harmony Child Care.


JohannaJohanna

Johanna has worked in the childcare field for about 11 years and really enjoys what she does. She is currently working on her Associates Degree in visual fine arts and hoping to become an Art Teacher I the future, she is also working on getting an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.

In her spare time, she spends time with her Fiancee and 3 beautiful children and 2 step children.
We are happy to have her join us in our Preschool room here at Harmony as a Co-Teacher.


RosemarieRosemarie

Rosemarie comes to us from Jamaica, she has been living in the United States for 23 years.

She has been working with children in many different capacities for the past 27 years, she likes to say that she loves children and understands them and they have come to understand and love her as well.

She is presently working on a degree in Social Services where she hopes to be better equipped to serve the needs of children.

She has one child of her own, who is grown and living out of State. Rosemarie comes from a large family where she is the youngest of 10. In her spare time she sings in the church choir and loves to cook and entertain for family and friends. Her hope and goal is to serve the precious children that come to our center.


EmilyEmily, Assistant Teacher

Emily graduated from East Hartford High School in June of 2015. There she took classes in Early Childhood Education and worked with young children as well. When Emily was 7 years old she started taking dance classes and continued those until 2015. In her dance studio, she was given the opportunity to teach and assist in dance classes with children 3-11 years old. Emily is currently attending Manchester Community College and is happy to be working at Harmony Child Care for her first job. She has already learned so much and she is excited for this experience.

In Emily’s spare time she enjoys making videos and graphic designs on her computer. She spends a lot of time with her friends whom live all over the world. At home her family has 2 dogs and 3 cats. They are also a foster family for the Humane Society where they take care of kittens until they are old enough to be adopted.
